The Sydenham Cycleway Project was a temporary cycleway from Sydenham to Marrickville Station aimed at improving active transport routes and accessibility in Sydney’s inner west.

The project adopted innovative construction solutions to minimise impacts on local businesses. This included scheduling of demolition works during the night and using a calcium concrete mix to provide enough strength for businesses to access their driveway the morning after a concrete pour. Scope of work included:

• Installation of concrete patches
• Kerb separators between the road and cycle path
• Installation of blister islands
• Application of cycleway paint and line marking
• Landscaping
• Signage
