Scope of project
Burton was engaged by DM Roads to construct a noise wall in a heavily populated area of Cammeray. To construct the noise wall, extensive rock excavation was undertaken to bench out for pile locations and to allow for adequate clearance for precast panel installation.
Extensive concreting works were also incorporated into the design of this wall which includes a mass concrete infill on the rear side of the wall, construction of a 200m long V-drain and the construction of approximately 65m of F type barrier. The project scope also included:
- Piling and pier construction, post placement, and precast panel installation
- Noise wall construction
- Concreting works
- Major landscaping within the vicinity of the wall, including slope stabilisation
- Construction of sandstone retaining wall, to match existing
- Development an implementation of traffic management plan taking into consideration, bike lanes, pedestrians, and local buses.
